Questions & answers
Can I use Neox for free?
Yes. With your own API key (BYOK), every desktop and CLI feature is free with no usage cap; model usage is billed by your provider. Subscriptions add unified model access with an included allowance. You can use both.
How is the subscription usage allowance measured?
There are three limits: 5 hours, 7 days and the calendar month. When any of them is used up, requests pause until it resets. The 5-hour and 7-day windows roll, starting with the first request after an idle period; the monthly limit resets on the 1st at 00:00 UTC. Consumption per call depends on the model and context length. The usage page in the console lists the quota share of each call.
What happens when I run out of allowance?
Requests pause and the client shows when the limit resets. Upgrade your plan to resume immediately; turn on extra usage to keep going from your platform balance (you can turn it off at any time); or switch to BYOK, which is not subject to the allowance.
Can I get a refund?
No. Fees already paid for the current period are not refunded. You can cancel at any time and keep the service through the end of that period. Cancelling stops the next charge.
Two exceptions: consumers in the EU and UK keep their statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date the contract is concluded; and if we cause a significant, prolonged outage we will grant service credit or a pro-rata refund. Full terms in the Refund Policy.

What payment methods and billing periods are supported?
Major credit and debit cards are supported. Billing is monthly or quarterly, with a 10% discount on quarterly billing. Receipts are emailed by our payment provider, Waffo; invoices are not available at this time.
Can I upgrade any time? What about downgrading?
Upgrades can be made at any time and take effect immediately. Downgrades are not self-serve yet. Let your current plan lapse at the end of the period, or contact us for help. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with service unaffected for time already paid. The Free plan requires no credit card.
How is my code and data handled?
On a subscription, model requests are routed through the Neox gateway. With your own key, requests go directly from your machine to the model provider, not through Neox servers. Neox does not use your code to train models. See the Security page.
Is there a team or enterprise plan?
Team workspaces are supported in the desktop client. Centralized billing and usage management for organizations are in development. For procurement or volume licensing, contact support@neox-dev.com.
