Settings · Preferences
Appearance, conversation, editor, voice, notifications and pet.
The second group in Settings, "Preferences", covers how the app looks and feels. Pages marked advanced appear only after you turn on "Show advanced settings" at the bottom of the sidebar.
Appearance
- Language — switches the interface and AI replies together
- Layout — floating or full-bleed
- Performance — one switch for interface motion, sidebar blur and window blur, or adjust each
- Theme — automatic (by local time, light from 6:00 to 18:00) or a theme you pick
See Theme & appearance.
Conversation
- Input box — standard (common tools along the bottom edge) or simple (a single pill, tools behind "+")
- Density — minimal (finished tool details collapsed), standard (key steps expanded), full (every step expanded)
- Font size and line spacing
Editor advanced
- Inline completion — grey suggestions as you type, Tab to accept; pick a separate provider and model for it (small models feel snappier)
- Keyboard shortcuts — search, remap, restore defaults
Voice advanced
Voice input (a microphone in the composer) and read-aloud, each local or cloud. See Voice.
Notifications
- Notify when a task finishes; background commands and subagents can notify too
- System banners and a sound (with preview)
- Do-not-disturb hours
- Feature intros: a one-time explanation the first time you use a feature; reset to see them again
Notifications only appear when you've switched to another app.
Pet
Pick a companion: Neox's own cat or corgi (next to the input box), or an open-source desktop pet (in a floating window in a corner of your desktop), or none. Adjust its size, starting position and whether it moves around.
